Anders now has a new obsession. He is completely enthralled by the Harry Potter movies...but who isn't these days?? He started out watching the 2nd one because that's the only one we could find. He had been asking us for a while to watch it and we kept telling him it was too scary. Finally, we just gave in and decided to let him watch until it gets to scary and then he'll never ask again. Well, it never got too scary. He was totally mesmerized. He has now seen all 5 movies that are out on DVD and actually prefers The Order of the Phoenix! We watch it regularly. Am I wrong to let this happen? We debated on whether or not to take Anders to this newest one because of the possibility of it being a little too much on the big screen and surround sound, not too mention WAY long to sit still in the movie theater. On Friday, Christian and I were itching to see this movie that everyone was talking about, so we decided to give it a shot. We took Anders (and Eva) to see the newest Harry Potter and he was in heaven! It was a little long for him, but we made it. I think it's safe to say that it has pretty much been a
Harry Potter weekend for us. We've watched little bits of #5 randomly and I've been "Stupified" more than I can count. Tonight, we went over to my mom's house to help Carly stuff wedding announcements and the second Anders saw my mom he said, "you Malfoy!" Immediately, the wand fighting began. While we were in the living room talking, Anders had gone in the other room and loaded up the toy shopping cart with junk. All of a sudden, he bolted in the living room at full speed and crashed into the wall. While everyone else looked at him with total confusion, wondering why in the world he would do that, I started laughing. I explained that he was looking for Platform 9 3/4. Just then, he turned in the opposite direction and ran into that wall. Wow! What an imagination! While Christian was humiliated and trying to encourage Anders to throw a football with him, Grandma went to find her eyeliner. In no time, Anders and Harry had matching scars. He was the happiest kid in the world. He spent the entire night looking for wands (sticks) outside and playing Harry Potter with his cousin, Megan. I just can't get enough of that kid!
