Anders singing the ABCs

Build A Bear Workshop

Grandma and Grandpa Speirs decided to take their three grandsons to the Build a Bear Workshop on Saturday. It was such a special treat for them to pick out and customize their new best friends! Of course, Anders chose an elephant and dressed it in a Utah Jazz outfit. I'm sure he liked that one the best because it came with a "ba ball" (basketball). Christian was especially proud of Anders when he brought it home because it was the first game of the playoffs. Anders' favorite part of the whole process was washing the animals. We're still teaching him the sharing idea.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! We had a great time and it is a memory we will never forget!

Baby Animal Days

We were so excited to take Anders to Baby Animal Days in Logan last week. I had been before and couldn't wait to take Anders when now that he actually understood what was going on. He loves identifying animals and making the sounds, so we though for sure this would be a hit! We quickly realized that Anders suffers from the same animal phobias that his mom does. He would not go anywhere near any animals. Christian was really embarrased to admit that his son is even afraid of bunnies. However, we could not distract him from the "bawk bawks" (chickens). We decided to stop forcing him to get close to the other animals and let him enjoy himself his own way. Needless to say, it was HUGE waste of money!

This is Christian eating a cricket. I never quite understood the reason they were handing out dead cricket for people to try, but Christian never turns down a chance to be gross!

The way we roll

We were so excited for this awesome weekend weather because we got to finally enjoy our newest purchase! We are now one of "those" families. So far, we've been on one big bike ride and a couple little ones. We're still learning the rules of the roads. I don't think I've ever been an adult riding a bicycle. Anders loves looking at all the "baas" and the "neighs" in our neighborhood. If you see us out riding, you can wave, but don't honk! We're still practicing!

Now Hiring!

Does anyone out there know anyone looking for a job? We are opening kiosks in the Fashion Place Mall (SLC area) and the Newgate Mall (Ogden area). We also have locations open in the Layton Hills Mall, University Mall and the Golds Gyms in Utah County. It's the perfect student job and gets great pay! If you know someone, you can contact me or have them take a resume to one of our locations.

April Fools!

I had to post this because I thought it was so funny! My little sister, Carly called me today to remind me that it is April Fools and asked me to do something for her. She really wanted to trick my dad, so she asked me to tie a hair elastic around the sprayer on the sink so that when he turned the sink on, it would spray him. I followed her instructions, in the back of my mind knowing that it would really be Christian that it sprayed. It actually worked out perfectly! Christian turned on the sink right when my dad walked in the room and as you can see, got really wet. It took him a second to figure out what was going on. I could not contain myself. Normally, I think you're supposed to let them think there is something wrong with the sink and turn it off and on. However, I was busting up laughing, which was a dead give-away. I suck at these things! Thanks Christian for being such a good sport!

Happy Birthday Ry Ry!

Today was Ryder's 3rd birthday and he invited us to celebrate it with him at Chuck E Cheese. We had a great time! We really didn't see much of Ryder (or Billy for that matter) because he had a pocket full of tokens plenty to spend it on. Before today, Anders was terrified of those quarter rides. He's kind of a cautious child. He really didn't like that it moved. However, this trip to Chuck E Cheese changed all of that! He had the time of his life. He especially loved the "neighs" (that's horse in Anders' language). The one ride Anders really was not comfortable with was this tricked-out truck that had a really ghetto suspension. He gripped the side of the door the entire time and did not look up. Anders loved this miniature skee ball game. I could not get him away from it. In fact, I could not get him to sit still to take a picture with me because he was so concerned the other kids were going to play with his game. It took us MANY times to get as good of a picture as we got. We had so much fun with Billy, Nikki, Ryder, and Easton. We are so sad their move is getting closer and closer. We'll miss them so much! I just don't know if I can take a whole summer of, "Where's Ry Ry?"

Here's Anders getting down with Chuck E Cheese on stage! He definitely showed him up!

Anders watching Billy master his technique. He seriously played this game over and over and was competing with Ryder for tokens. It brought back so many of my childhood memories!
