Mission: Pepparkakor

Anders and I decided to give Christian a special surprise when he came home from work one day. I was brave enough to try a new recipe with the help of a 3 year-old (not recommended). Christian's favorite Christmas treat are Swedish Pepparkakors. We usually buy them at Ikea or the Swedish specialty store in SL every year. This year, Anders and I set out to make them from scratch. I was nervous because I wasn't sure if the Swedes actually make these from scratch or if they would work. By the time Anders and I were finished, our house smelled so Christmasy and we could not wait for Christian to come home. He walked in the door and smelled the yummy aroma of ginger, nutmeg, and cloves and knew exactly what we'd been doing. He was so excited. We could not wait for the kids to go to bed so we could enjoy our traditional Pepparkakors and milk without sharing. For future reference...pepparkakors are way better from scratch!
