Elder Kennedy Speirs

This week has been absolutely insane, so I have a lot of catching up to do. Before I do that, I want to take a minute to brag about my amazing little brother! He is serving an LDS church mission in New York, Spanish speaking mission. He's been out for about nine months. He writes us a lot, telling us about his life in this completely foreign area to him. This week, we got an e-mail from him that said he'd just received a call from the mission president, calling him to be the new District Leader and to train a greenie. I am not too familiar with the Missionary lingo, so I asked Christian if that was a good thing. The translation to this is that he is in charge of the missionaries in his district (I'm not sure how many that is) and a "greenie" is a new missionary. Christian says that's really good because he's only been out nine months and he had to learn a new language. We are so proud of the work Kenny is doing. He has been so obedient and has brought the Gospel into so many people's lives. It is so fun to look at his pictures because he is glowing. He is so happy and knows he is exactly where the Lord has prepared him to be. We are so grateful for Kenny's willingness to serve a mission and to devote two years of his life to spreading the happiness of the Gospel. He has had so many amazing experiences. We miss him so much, but nothing gives us more peace than knowing he is in the Lord's hands. His service has blessed our family in more ways that we can even explain.
